Q. Byrum Hurst, a long-time small businessman and Hot Springs native, announced today that his campaign has been recognized as an Emerging Race by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The DCCC recognized his campaign for increasingly making this race competitive by meeting infrastructure and organizational goals. Hurst has quickly and effectively started to make the case to Arkansans that he is a problem-solver who will build on the successful track record of Congressman Mike Ross. As early voting approaches, this announcement proves that Hurst continues to add momentum to become the 4th Congressional District nominee.

“This is a great step for our campaign that demonstrates we’re increasingly competitive and have strong grassroots support across Arkansas going into Election Day,” said Hurst. “As we continue to aggressively build our organization, our fundraising network and communicate our message about creating jobs and ensuring we honor our obligations to our senior citizens, I’m confident our support across the district and Arkansas will continue to grow.”

Earlier this month, Hurst’s campaign announced that it has raised more than $100,000 during the
first month of his campaign.
